Here's an article

by our new boy Darren Kirk

Several news snippets for you
The BIG news is that Corran's new film
about kayak surfing the Pororoca Bore is now completed
and should be in the dealers by Christmas. Be warned that the first
pre-Christmas run will be limited in number so get on to your dealer
right away or e-mail us
for the latest information on UK availability.
A number of new movie clips (including previews of the Pororoca DVD)
have been added to the movies page.
There are a couple of articles by Darren Kirk
on the TWP
site. The first is about his first time in the DragoRossi
Fish at Boulters Weir while the second is a report of his recent
trip to Stanley
Embankment as featured in his recent movie clip.
The Double 2 D
boys are on the road all over the North so keep an eye out for them!

More movies!
Darren Kirk
sent us a link to a new movie that he's just made. It features him
"spinning to win" in the DR Fish on the little wave at
Stanley Embankment and features music by Sum
Of Nothing.
Also we have added a link to a movie of a couple of "average
joe" Dutch paddlers having fun in some ocean surf.
Go to the movies page and check them out.

If a picture paints a thousand words...
It's a bloody good job because Tim didn't send us any words. All we
have are these really great images of him and his friends in action
in their DragoRossi Mafia(s).
Taking a leaf out of Tim's book, Glenn decided we should post some
images of some BIG surf action and that we
too should let the pictures speak for themselves.
Gradually the word is spreading about the amazing performance of
Corran's latest designs. The Pintail has certainly been a pleasant surprise
since not only is it forgiving and easy to roll but it really performs
well in the surf. A great all-rounder.
If you want to see a movie of the Pintail in action on a river wave
go here.

BIG Surf & other news...
When the going gets tough, the tough get going! Glenn and our
little squirtboater come surfer (Jamie Austen) are this months poster
boys. In case you'all wondered that clanking sound is the sound of the
mighty gauntlet landing at your feet! ;-)

Check out the gallery for some new wallpaper!
A movie is in the making!

Eskimo Salto in Albania...

Mass next to the Mafia.
SPANK THE WEB MONKEY!!!! We appear to have lost the links to a
couple of recent news items so here they are again....
Those Double
2D boys are on the road again (up North), promoting our products
at every opportunity. Looks like they had a great time at the Tyne
Tour. Why not say hello if you see them in your neck of the woods.
They always have a stash of toys to play with.
Our new boy Darren Kirk recently made a short movie of him in
action in his LiquidLogic
Vison at Nene. While we don't normally post movies that
exclusively feature other manufacturers boats the soundtrack of this
one is provided by our friends Sum
Of Nothing so do check it out (10.5MB WMV format).

Dutch road trip movie & other movie updates
A movie of some Dutch paddlers on a road trip has been added to
our list of movies. Thanks go to Rocky
and the other cool Dutch guys that frequent the DragoRossi
Message board.
Also we've been raiding Corran Addison's webserver and have several
new links to his latest movies plus a link to a 7MB utility that
will allow PC users to view the latest Quicktime format movies. How
cool is that?
November 07, 2005
Surf's up!
We asked our new boy, Darren
Kirk, to pick up one of our demo Squashtails from KayakoJacko
and he thought he
was man enough to handle it. He checked out the surf and thought to
himself "I'm the man"! He found a friend to film him in
action and then hit the beach. The boy did good but he forgot one
small thing. Those ocean waves weren't like the little standing river
waves that he's used to and the Squashtail isn't a nice a friendly
hole boat, it's a demon with a sting in it's tail. A pocket rocket with racing
stripes, quad fins boxes and a hull that is optimised for speed! So who won???
Well, let's just say that the only footage
that survived was that of Darren getting trashed! hehehe.... ;-)

New Topo-Duo arrives
A few new updates to the website have gone unannounced. We've tried
to make it easier to find and download our movies and trailers. We've
also started to build up an on-line shop. We won't be selling new
kayaks, paddles or softwear direct however we want to make it easier
for people to find out about ex-demo products and other deals that we
offer. BUT the big news is that the brand new Top-Duo's
have now arrived in the UK.
July 15, 2005
New Topo-Duo arrival is imminent!
Eskimo kayaks have just posted some images
of the brand new Topo-Duo on their website. We ordered a large
stock of these to meet the anticipated UK demand but not that we've
seen the boat we think we'll need to increase the size of the order.
For 2005 the Topo-Duo is amazing value at just £749. Look out for it
at your dealer soon.
July 14, 2005
New web-movies page on-line
A feature of our site that we intend to heavily develop is the
ability to easily download movies in formats that are viewable to as
many people as possible and in sizes to suit broadband users and those
with slower technology. The first step was to create a
catalogue of the movies that we have and make that
available.

Boatercross update…
We were seriously impressed to hear that former Liquid Life title
holder, Bridget Thomas, absolutely flew ahead of the competition to
win the ladies event in an Eskimo Salto. We contacted her to
congratulate her and she sent us some pictures of the Salto in action.
Check out new images in the gallery.
Bridget auctioned off her event prize (a holiday in Turkey) in aid
of the Andy Jackson access fund and children's hospital.
Also Tim Aldridge sent us a report

New on the High 'n' Mighty Distribution website is an events
calendar showing the events that we are supporting across the UK.
Put a date in your diary to come and say hello!
Also new on the web is a brilliant resource from Ollie Castle (Top
UK C1'er and the guy behind www.parknplay.com
among other things.
This new website is intended to fill the gap left by the demise of the
Thames Weir Project forums that are soon to be discontinued.

Congratulations to Tim Aldridge!
Back in January Tim approached us about a possible
sponsorship deal. We had a slightly used red Mafia that had been used
for a magazine review kicking around and so we offered him a chance to
prove himself. Less than six months later Tim came good by
convincingly winning the Junior category of the Liquid Life boater
cross event.

Congratulations "D"!
Belated congratulations go to Darren "D"
Broderick for his successes in his brand new Fish at the Washburn
Challenge (7-8th May). Recent High 'n' Mighty signing "D"
has done well to convert his boat to C1 and score points in a boat
that is supposed to be hard to get used to. Lets hope that there are
more points in store for this rising star.
Darren's scores:
Extreme Slalom - 8th
Downriver - 4th
Freestyle - 3rd
Overall - 4th

Busy day....
Monday 16th saw another major UK delivery from
DragoRossi (mainly Stingers and Pintails but we did have to top up our
rapidly declining stocks of Fish and Squashtails too). Many of the
boats were dispatched almost as soon as they had arrived but of course
we could not pass up the opportunity to post some images of our PINK
Stinger and Squashtail.
While snapping the DragoRossi boats we remembered that
we had yet to post pictures of the Eskimo Salto and since we have now
almost completely run out we decided to get a few images before the
last ones disappear out of the door.

Also here
is really cool little movie of Daniel Herzig from Austria in his

"Archive" movie...
This is a movie made from clips filmed during Winter 2005. The
first clips are of Chris Jones at HPP Nottingham. We bumped into him
and Chris Mac at the National Students Rodeo. The rest of the footage
was filmed at Hurley on our first trip there with the Stinger (orange)
and Pintail (white). Team "Dragon" Lee Pyke showed up in his
red Fish, which he has converted to C1, and a good time was had by
all. The music is by the excellent Colourbox! The movie is in WMV

CRIME IS NO JOKE - FIGHT CRIME!
Those of you that having been following the developments of High
'n' Mighty will remember that we had our van broken into and about
£500 worth of stuff stolen while at HolmePierrePont whitewater centre
(not to mention the cost of repairs to the van). Neither the local
police nor the management of the company that controls the site
(Leisure Connection) were interested in what happened to us and we
simply became another statistic of crime in the Nottingham area. Recently
we heard of a similar incident where a teenage boys car was broken
into and a large amount of gear stolen. The mother of the boy
contacted Leisure Connection only to receive a similarly unsympathetic
response. Their story was posted on the Thames
Weir Project website as well as several others and it seems that
these were not two isolated incidents but one of a large number of
break ins that have taken place at the site. We decided to
contact the company to express our concern to the company only to
receive the following statement: "Holme Pierrepont is a
public park and as such it is difficult to police, compared to a
private venue or space. Although the area is safe and tranquil, users
should take as much care as they would in any other public space or
town centre. CCTV is already in operation and steps are currently
being taken to increase the protection offered by the cameras. In
addition, the police have been informed and are increasing their
presence across the park, whilst staff are undertaking regular patrols
of the site as a precaution." We do not think this
wishy-washy statement is a suitable response to a serious crime! Think
about it. You're in a the HPP carpark and you see someone. Maybe you
know what he's up to and maybe not. You approach him, maybe to ask for
help or maybe to confront him. He turns and attacks you with the
screwdriver he was using to break into the vehicle. It could happen.
Is it right that a company that charges you to use the facilities at
HPP ignores what is going on right under their noses? If you, like us
are not prepared to tolerate this complacency from the management of
Leisure Connection then e-mail them and tell them exactly what you
think! Click

Hot news from DragoRossi
While at the UK Outdoor Show Corran received so many requests for
PINK boats that he has managed to convince the guys at the factory to
offer any kayak or surfboard in PINK as a special order item. Please
note that this is not a colour that will be a standard stock item. It
will be specially moulded for customers that request it.

2005 SAS Hurley Classic cancelled
Very sad news indeed!
After taking advice from the
Environment Agency, the SAS Hurley Classic organising team have
been forced to cancel the event scheduled for the 9th
& 10th of April 2005. With the River Thames
at a very low level, no significant rain forecast, and no guarantee of
any open weir gates, they are unable to go
forward with one of the core elements of the whole event. The team
said that they genuinely regret any
inconvenience that the cancellation has caused and request that you
pass this information to everybody that you know who had planned to
attend, and visit www.hurleyclassic.com
for information on entry refunds.

Customer Feedback...
It is really cool when a customer e-mails you to tell you what
great fun he's having in his new boat. One guy from the South
West of England picked up his Fish at the Outdoor Show on Saturday has
already been out and paddled it. Here is what he had to say:
"I paddled the Fish today in at the local surf spot. 1 -1
1/2 mush, blown by an onshore F4. Not the stuff I would normally
consider getting up early for. I did anyway and got the Fish out.
It reminded me why I got into kayaking, the most fun thing I
haveever done and the greatest and most versatile boat I have ever
paddled. It seemed to have two modes. I was spinning and cartwheeling
at one moment, then tucked up and blasted off along the face. It felt
more like my ski than a playboat and this without the fins! If this is
so good in the surf without fins, I'd hate to see what the Squashtail
can do! Better start saving, I suppose. :-)
I'm off to Widemouth for a week over Easter, and sad though it
seems, the Fish may be seeing more action than my ski! I'm probably
going out tomorrow as well, so I'll try it with the fins then.
Thanks for being so understanding and helpful, and thanks for
importing what I consider to be the best boat i have ever paddled. And
thanks to Corran for designing the thing! ;-)
Good luck, though when you're distributing things this good, you
don't need it."

Great news about 2005 Eskimo kayak prices
High 'n' Mighty distribution are pleased to announce that the UK
SRP (Suggested Retail Price) for Eskimo kayaks will be:
Topo-Duo = £749.00
Eskimo Salto = £599.00
Eskimo Gecko = To Be Agreed!
All other models = £549.00
Remember that these are the prices for the new improved Eskimo
kayaks produced in "two-tone" colours using advanced
blowmoulding with the fittings moulded in during the moulding process
using Eskimo's "IMP" (Integrated Moulding Process) resulting
in less components and increased durability.

The "Big C" @ the NEC
We can confirm that Corran Addison (along with Diego Zanga) will be
attending the Outdoor Show at Birmingham NEC (18-20 March). It
is a shame that he wont be able to get out onto any rivers during this
flying visit (maybe next time) however if you're at the show you
should feel free to come along and say hello. We should have plenty
of free copies of the latest issue of X-Elements magazine which
features an article all about Corran's river surfing projects which
he'll be happy to sign! Many UK dealers feel that the timing of the
show works against them and since we at High 'n' Mighty came from a
local shop that struggled through each Winter we sympathise with them
but for a small new company like us it is very important to reach out
to the end users and let them see our products first hand. We will
not be selling boats from our stall at the show but we have made
arrangements with our dealers at the show and those that chose not to
attend to ensure that we can best meet the demand for DragoRossi
kayaks that the show is expected to generate.
March 6, 2005
New for 2005 from High 'n' Mighty
We are now the UK distributor for ESKIMO
kayaks. We met with Jan Kellner recently and
were extremely impressed by the build quality, latest
innovations and new colour
options on offer from Eskimo so we were more than happy when he asked
us if we'd be interested in being the UK distributor. We
believe that DragoRossi and Eskimo kayaks compliment each other
extremely well by catering for completely different types of paddler
and for a new company like us it is great to be working with two of
the best known names in the industry. The latest Eskimo designs
should be on display at the Outdoor Show at the Birmingham NEC (18-20
March) and will be available through our growing dealer network soon
after. For more about the current
Eskimo line-up click here.

hopefully be available from your

catalogue for the complete list of DVD titles available through
our dealers. If you
experience any difficulties getting hold of any of our titles just
e-mail us (sales@highnmighty.co.uk)

the magazine advertisement for River
Surfing 101. Don't forget to check out the

CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Congratulations to Beccy Craig from Shropshire
(England) for getting the correct answer in our Christmas
competition. A box set of our Imagine Media DVD's will be winging its
way to you as soon as our dispatch guy gets over the new year
celebrations. We hope that you enjoy all the movies. Please let us
know how you get on! Commiserations to all the
other contestants (from all across Europe). Sadly we could only pick one winner but
of course there will always be next
time! ;-)

Think you can do better?
Some of you may have noticed the developing High 'n'
Mighty logo (on the home page). This is a concept that we are working
on but we are not professional graphic artists and it is an unnecessary
distraction for us. If YOU think that YOU can do better why not e-mail
info@highnmighty.co.uk
with your ideas / proposals. We would love to hear from people that
think that they can improve upon our scribblings!

Chris Jones's review
of the DragoRossi Mafia (in action in Scotland).
Also, thanks Jason
Smith and the rest of the folks at Playboating
magazine,
we have been given permission to reproduce an article from issue
41 of their fantastic magazine titled: "Corran
Addison - Saint or Sinner?".
Be warned the file is a great read but
it is a 1 Mb PDF download!

First UK dealers coming on-line
Earlier this week Pete from WWTC
took the Fish to Hurley after which he declared "Really,
I’m speechless! Corran has done that boat no justice saying that it is the Ferrari of the
boat world. A Ferrari is a fast car, a Riot is a fast boat. That Fish is
full on Formula 1. It’s embarrassing how fast that thing goes. My god it's
good"!

The first DragoRossi boats to hit the UK
It was worth the wait! The first
batch of UK DragoRossi boats arrived earlier this week and we snapped a
handful of pictures before they sped their way across the country to various
demo's etc... We have ALL models and ALL colours! The next batch will be a
huge delivery but there are of course so many dealers that we cannot
guarantee your preferred colour at your dealer so please contact them if you
have any special requirements.
Look out for features and reviews of these
beauties in Playboating and Paddles magazines but in the mean time feast
your eyes on this little lot...

The BIG day!
Finally we can
tell you what we've been dying to tell you for the last couple of months.
High n Mighty distribution are proud to say that we are now the UK importer
/ distributor for DragoRossi whitewater kayaks and river surfboards.
Probably the best in the World! ;-)
This, in addition to our exciting range of movies & DVD's, is just the
beginning of an amazing line of products that we are working on as part of
our continuing mission to seek out and deliver the finest products to
the UK market.
Nothing is too good for us because nothing is too
good for YOU!
