First and foremost High 'n' Mighty Distribution is a business but we didn't start this thing just to make money, we're doing this because we really do love the sport of kayaking and we love being part of the sport and helping it to develop. Getting feedback is great for us, it assures us that we're doing the right things and that we're going in the right directions. And of course, if ever we have "a bad day at the office" we can look at our customers feedback and say "that's why we're doing it".
This page is dedicated to our customers experiences, feedback, testimonials, etc... Of course we are also more than happy to post comments from our dealers here too! If you have something that you’d like to add then please e-mail info@highnmighty.co.uk

"The Fish is fantastic. With the fins set up for down the line speed
it was superb, climbing wave faces with minimum loss of momentum. It was also
capable of surf style moves like staying in the pocket, going fast, and doing
cut backs. Paddling out was pretty easy, a bit of rocker keeps the bow out of
trouble, and it is more than fast enough to charge through and make the most
of opportunities on the way out.
Even without the fins it holds the line very very well. Point it straight down a steep wave and it generates so much speed you feel yourself squash in the seat, then all it takes is a quick edge transition and this baby flies. It DOES bounce, but not very well, and it takes a hell of a wave to get it really bouncing, but you don't need the bounce to get air. The outfitting is different. I took the "death braces" out as I found I was secure enough without them. I may experiment with them in due course. The backrest is a very firm rubber. I have added some Karrimat recently, for that armchair feeling! I can see why people dislike this boat, It's a bugger to paddle well if you are used to butt bouncing and forcing moves through. Personally I love it! Keep up the good work guys." Tom Laws (date: 05/08/2006) |

"I Consider myself intermediate + trainee Level 3 paddler, not very good
play boating, age 42.
I had the pleasure of taking my new Fish to the Tryweryn for its first outing on whitewater for three days over Easter. Wow, brilliant! I must confess, coming from a Booster that I was expecting a kicking from this boat but nothing could be further from the truth! For me it actually performed 100% better. Agile, responsive, rolling, it did everything I wanted it to do. Edge awareness was no different to any other boat! I'm not a great play boater but more than happy if I can get on a wave and surf with a flat spin if I'm lucky. Where on Cafe Wave my Booster used to pearl and wash off, the Fish just sits up takes off as if on auto, very exhilarating. Bala Mill Falls, no problem! It just felt like a new experience, hard to explain. I must of bored my paddling mates to death on how much I loved it. Looking forwards to a Summer of Ocean Surf now! I think I'll need to take a look at the Squashtail as well at some stage. I think Corran needs to work on his PR, I'm amazed there isn't more said about these boats." Paul (date: 26/04/2006) |

"I had looked at all boats as the same, and written off a lot of boats before I tested them. I even wrote off the Fish as having too much volume. I was interested in the Fish because of it's edges, but thought I would lose out on the other characteristics I like in the other boats, mainly hole play. I tested the Fish for 5 hours on small and medium sized UK waves, re-learning my edge control before I bought it, even though I had no idea what it would be like in small UK holes. All the other boats that I had tried seemed to have been a small evolution of my previous, and seemed to take the moves I like a little further, but not much. The Fish hyped up the moves I liked (big carve moves) and punished me when I got sloppy with edges (something the "forgiving" boats forgive too much, so compromise the carve) Last week, my local spot was back to it's low cartwheel level, and the Fish blew me away. I have never been in a boat so well balanced, and even with that BIGGER volume that I thought I would have problems with. Just goes to show, pays to test boats, and to learn new skills." "Woah! The Squashtail is fast! The Squashtail seems twice as fast as my Riot Tekno and maybe as fast as my Composite Mega X-Ray even to the point where I was unable to resist the speed and cranking the last lipturn into oblivion (onto the beach) one time too many. It’s very well balanced and a reasonably easy paddle out. How can it be so fast? It’s short. It’s plastic, so not too rigid. Lack of stern rocker and aggressive rails, and sweet planing hull is all I can think. Still doesn't make sense. The outfitting is perfect. The thigh straps are perfect, I can actually reach the foot rests (padded them wider with foam for comfort), and I love the backrest. I know this has been a bone for contention but its spot on for me. Its not at all hard to paddle. I got straight in it and felt at home (whereas it took me 6 months to feel like this in either the Tekno or the X-Ray). I think the paddle out and ease of handling are somewhat related to the great outfitting. I'm one with the boat and it’s a dream to handle and roll." Marc (date: 06/05/2005) |
| "The
[Fish] hull develops so much lift and speed that if the rail is not
positively engaged you find yourself in the trough green grinding! Get it right
though and the boat is blindingly fast forward and back. You find yourself
having to control the speed rather than developing it.
Blunts are easy to initiate, allowing the paddler to carve hard into them and combine a bit of bounce to really whip the boat around. I have found that you need to alter your style a bit to get the most out of the boat as you really need a hard rail change to get decent elevation on the blunt. The boat is more bouncy going backwards which, combined with a lot of rocker in the tail allows for the easiest reverse blunts I have ever been able to initiate. If you can ever pull yourself away from a wave into a hole (believe me it takes a lot of pulling) you find a boat that is easy to initiate loops which have a lot of pop due to the fairly high volume in the bow. It is balanced through the ends when cartwheeling and it is easy to splitwheel. Overall this is one hell of a boat, its potential only really held back by the present conventions of paddling. You do have to re think everything you have learnt so far, but the results are worth it if you are prepared to put in the time with the boat." Matt A. (date: 03/05/2005) |
| "I'd
say I am unbiased, I paddle nearly every playboat on the market as soon
as I can and I'm very open minded about them. I love some, hate others but, for me, the Fish is the best of the lot! I LOVE IT! If I break it - I’ll get another! I am not sponsored - I paddle a Fish because I want to. If I wanted to paddle something else I would do." Chris (date: 31/03/2005) |

“I’ve just come back from Portugal and wanted to tell you about the Dragorossi Squashtail and ocean Surf! The surf at most west coast breaks on the Algarve was around head high most of the week, Carapetereia the best place by far that I found! The Squashtail kicks @rse on ocean surf and with the fins on it grips the steepest wave with ease. The best points
about the Squashtail are: Negatives: Other than that I would recommend this boat to anyone who wants a boat to play on ocean surf (and who is a reasonable paddler), it's fast, feisty and down right fun! I'm not a great paddler and in the hands of a pro this boat must be awesome! Even for me it just wanted to explode into the air of the shoulders! It doesn't bounce it launches! the DragoRossi Fish today in at the local surf spot. 1 -1 1/2 mush,

DragoRossi Fish is just what I wanted it to be. An out and out, balls to

“The Speedo is everything I'd hope it would be. Fast (obviously), super easy to paddle and loads of fun in the surf or old schoolin' it down the river. It moves around with the ease of a slalom boat, squirts in eddy lines and because it's super tough plastic you don't have to worry about it falling apart on you if something goes wrong. But the best bit is everyone comes over and asks you about it. I like being different. This boat is so cool! :-)” BIG Cole (date: 05/08/2006) |
