| The first batch of new toys arrived from Italy
this week. Glenn Burgess, High 'n' Mighty's sales guy was the first one
to get his hands on the new boats and he snapped a few pictures before
leaving for the Euro Champs event at Nottingham.

First impressions of the Thruster:
"Wow" would sum it up in one word. It's
a very attractive but different from the norm kayak. It resembles the
Squashtail drastically but you can see straight away that it's gonna be
a completely different animal. It has plenty of room in the knees
and feet but still maintains as low volume as possible in the bow.
Probably the most comfortable playboat I've sat in in years. The hull
has me guessing whether it's gonna be fast like the Squashtail or bouncy
like the Stinger as it looks like a cross between the two. Hopefully
it'll represent a good compromise. I can't wait to get it to the water
to see what it can do! |

First impressions of the Critical Mass:
This is one big bad boy of a creek boat. It looks
like it will run over and destroy absolutely anything in it's path.
It looks like Corran's listened to peoples likes and dislikes on the
Mafia and has really done the job with the Critical Mass. The first boat
I've been able to get in with trainers on since the Pyranha Mountain
300. It's got leg room for even the biggest giant especially with
the introduction of the "Ring" which does away with the
central foam pillar. |

Final thought: The stern hatch has been massively
improved IMO with the introduction of a cam buckle system. The Critical
Mass gives off a very macho vibe. Very industrial in it's
appearance but yet comfortable, practical and spacious. It's
definitely gonna be my choice for starting to creek and for coaching
this year! ;-) |
