We've just
got back from the London & South East Canoe Show organised by WWTCC. |

![]() Youngsters were keen to paddle all the latest boat designs. |
| Thanks go to WWTCC for organising an event that was as much fun for us as it was for the general public. The blazing sun roasted us for the entire weekend but fortunately George Woods (the man behind WWTCC) had arranged for some of the guys from Addlestone Canoe Club to provide both hot and cold refreshments. In addition those who found themselves a little overheated were frequently found swimming in the lake alongside the rainbow-coloured flotilla of demo boats. | |
![]() The water was inviting for even the smallest visitors. |
![]() Meg was in charge of looking cool and keeping things organised. |
| On Saturday afternoon the winner of Playboating Magazine's recent competition turned up to collect his prize of a brand new DragoRossi Stinger! | |

| On Saturday evening everyone was treated to one of Pete Knowles (AKA Green Slime) Michael Palinesque adventure stories with the obligatory slideshow presentation. For us, Pete’s slideshow was followed by a little lazy open boating on the lake accompanied by ice cold beer and then a curry provided once again by the crew from Addlestone Canoe Club. | |

| Pete Knowles is currently working on a new edition of the coach’s bible otherwise known as "Canoe And Kayak Games" so look out for that one in the shops soon. | |

![]() WAM's "stripogram poster boy" checks out Riot's latests designs. ;-) |
|
All in all a great opportunity for people
to see, and to try out, what all the manufacturers and distributors have to
offer. Flat water may not be the best environment to assess the performance of a
whitewater boat but George has that covered. Next weekend we’ll be up at the
Nene centre for WWTCC’s
open day. An excellent opportunity to demo boats on some friendly whitewater for
FREE!
Hope to see you there….. |
